Annie Couget is a Sculptor and set designer

Born on April 15, 1961 in Toulouse to a family of scientists, research teachers.

After a scientific baccalaureate, Deug of art history and diploma of fine arts sculpture section in Toulouse. (1985)

Ten years of sculpture work in the workshops of the sets of the Capitol Theatre punctuated by personal exhibitions of sculptures in the Pyrenees and works of commended busts and bas reliefs for local authorities.

Despite my immature dreams (encouraged by numerous distinctions in numerous national art fairs), quickly understanding that sculpture is essentially an art of orders, at least if one wants to live it properly, she mounts in 2000 a small structure: "sculpture tailored" to meet the orders of interior decoration (trompe-l'œil, greys, bas reliefs and decorative sculptures) and theatre and opera sets (painting, sculpture, metal and wood constructions).

Creating small sets for regional troops, teaching drawing, then sculpture and set design at the University of Fine Art in Toulouse.

Set productions for some Parisian theatres (La bruyère theatre, theatre of the work) and many national theatres Toulouse, Limoges, Strasbourg, Rennes...

Mastering techniques as varied as:

Modeling, mouldings and prints of plaster, silicone or composite sculptures. Direct sizes of Styrofoam, wood or stone carvings. Ceramics and enamelled terracotta, welded iron, cold forge... allows him to juggle everything to choose the most appropriate techniques to serve his creative ideas.

Always figurative, she cultivates analogy by looking for plastic equivalents to represent without copying, to transmit her feelings, to suggest a movement, to give life to inert matter.
